It was my second time to attend this wonderful event. I went there last September 18 (Sunday) after lunch. The place was already jam packed with book worms and early Christmas shoppers.
Before I left the house, I had destinations in my mind so when I arrived at SMX, I went to the Indie Publication booth, which luckily in front of National Bookstore and near one of the entrances.
I bought In My Dreams by Yeyet Soriano and I was able to meet the author in person! She was very nice while signing my copy. I love her message to me and it made me excited to read her novel (which I am currently reading now).
After a while, I dropped by to Summit Media Publishing and waited for the Filipino writer that I've been waiting to meet. Ines Bautista-Yao is part of my #MeettheAuthorBucketList this 2016. The line for the Coming of Age book signing was quite long, but I still waited for Miss Ines, hoping to even have a glance of her. It was a short but memorable meet and greet though. Thank you Miss Ines for the sweet hug!
I roamed around for awhile and saw beautiful booths. Rex Bookstore won this year as the best booth and they truly deserved it! My favorite Adarna House, they bagged second place as the best booth made me feel young as always. I couldn’t help but purchase early present for my godchild.
Someone stopped me from going to National Bookstore! It was the place that I went to and even though I kept on reminding myself not to buy books, I still acquire two discounted novels! One is Tempting Victoria by Mina Esguerra (she signed my copy and she even remembered me!); I adore the book cover and getting ready for the book signing is Buti Pa Ang Roma May Bagong Papa by Noringai.
Finally, after two attempts of meeting Noringai, I was able to see her in person and it was worth it! We had a quick chat and I was fangirling all along!
My feet were sore but my heart was indeed filled with happiness. I went home that all the books I brought were signed by my idolized Filipino authors. Thank you MIBF!
Did you always go there?
If not, I have good news to all of you because I’m giving away three books because I had so fun with my 2nd MIBF visit.
