Last July 27, book bloggers and those who love to read books met at the newly opened Books and Borders Café at Tomas Morato. I was one of the earliest participants of the event. Everyone was asked to bring books for the ‘blind date’ where you have a chance to exchange a book or books that is dearly with you from another person. The difference was you need to wrap the books just like presents and on the cover; you should give keywords regarding the book.
There were games like ‘Finding Eros’ where you have to open a name and you have to find the other person who matches it. There is a big ‘Word Search’ that c ontained 50 words from the name of the authors, book titles, characters and book related words! I was lucky enough to find: John Green, More Happy Than Not and Hufflepuff. There was a group game where you should guess the title of the upcoming book based on the photo. My team mates are Salve and Kim, who was very equipped and familiar with the book titles. Our group was actually the first team to win! We also had the privilege to choose first the book that we wanted as our prize. Yay! I was torn between two books, but when I saw the cover of this particular novel, I got intrigued.
You belong to me!
The aroma of the coffee from the café bar made our stomachs grumbled. I ordered this unique pasta called ‘Tuyo Pasta’. The main ingredient is my all time favorite tuyo! I couldn’t believe it tasted good with pasta! Great food discovery! I can’t wait to try their other dishes and drinks!
The day ended with everyone happy because it was a successful event and of course all of us got new books to bring home to our shelves!
I’m crossing my fingers for a part two of Bookworms Unite, hopefully soon!
