I got lucky though because I was given free tickets to watch the advance screening of Valerian and the City of a Thousand Planets. It happened last night (July 18) at SM North Edsa the Block. The film was actually not in my bucket list because I’m not into science fiction genre, but I was very pleased that I’ve seen before anyone else!
The TOP THREE REASONS why you should go to the cinema and catch Valerian and the City of a Thousand Planets!
1. Dane DeHaan and Cara Delevigne
The first time that I’ve seen Dane DeHaan was in the Amazing Spiderman 2 which was Harry Osborn. I liked him when I saw him as Zach Orfman in Life After Beth and I fell deeply in love on how effective he is as an actor when he portrayed Valerian! I believed that is his first major role. He is a flirtatious guy, but he is a very serious and brave space and time traveling agent. I’m a fan of Cara Delevigne when she became the Enchantress in Suicide Squad! I was really impressed on how scary and mysterious her character was. In Valerian though, she is Sergeant Laureline, the partner and love interest of Valerian who is tough and loyal. They are hot as on-screen couple and they actually looked alike! Too bad, Dane is happily married! I shipped both of them.
2. Bubble and the Shingouz
Aside from Valerian and Laureline, I had an awesome time watching the characters of Bubble (Rihanna), a shape shifting entertainer that I would give applause for great performance and the very adorable Shingouz, a trio of alien intelligence experts whom Laureline count on when she needed top secret information and help.
3. Alpha and Mul
The breath taking Alpha will make you wonder if it might happen in the future. The setting of most of the movie is in Alpha, the city of the Thousand planets where humans and aliens are living together in the 28th century. Mul is said to be an uninhabited planet that banished 30 years ago. It was a home of an elegant race called Pearls who can control some secrets of the world. Creating these two places, especially Mul was mesmerizing and incredible.
Valerian and the City of a Thousand Planets will be out in cinemas starting tomorrow, I advised you to watch it in 3D or 4D, and you will highly appreciate it.
