Honestly, I was not familiar with BDJ and I thought it was a simple planner. Yet, 2013 became a great year for me. BDJ is not only a helpful and constant reminder of my schedules and goals; it showed and opened the door of wonderful opportunities for me.
I became a Bella. I attended activities from BDJ and from then on, I met awesome friends and become a part of the BDJ community that welcome and empower Filipinas to be their best self.
The biggest event of Belle De Jour is their BDJ Fair. The first time that I went to the BDJ Fair, I signed up with their Scavenger Hunt. It was a tiring yet wonderful teamwork activity that every new Bella should try on!
This year, marks Belle De Jour’s 10th year anniversary. BDJ Fair held last November 29 at SM Mall of Asia Music Hall from 10 in the morning till 8 in the evening.
I came at the venue almost 11, pre-registered and paid 100 php to avail the VIP pass. When you have the pass, you have the access to exclusive activities.
I immediately checked out the booths. There were 27 booths and 7 special activities for the VIP Pass. I wasn’t able to visit all of the booths but my top five favorites were: Palmistry (super cool to know more things about you and your future), Vedette (it was easy to get their facial mask for free and their staff was very friendly!), Wacoal (who doesn’t want a free photo as souvenir), Gifted (pick a task from their fish bowl and you instantly win a prize!) and Keds (arranging the four statements were challenging! Nice concept!)
When you pre-registered via online, you will be able to attend two talks. I chose Make Your Mark by RJ Ledesma and Make a Stand by Jen Santos.
Here are the things that I learned from the two talks:
RJ Ledesma shared his STEPS OF VISION SETTING:
Step 1: Develop a Unique (Vision) for Yourself
2: Constantly Work towards Achieving your Vision –Work Consistently
3: Your Vision May Not Always Work Out the way you planned (Despite all your effort)
4: Be Ready to Accept Failure. It will be Your Greatest Teacher
5: Find Out what you are Passionate About.
6: What do you want to be known for? (In Life)
7: Build your ‘Brand’- Your Personal Branding, what you stand for?
8: God has a Plan for You. And his plans for you are BIGGER and BETTER than whatever plan you have for yourself (I like this!)
*He reminded that nothing that you learn is going to waste and if you have the opportunity, pick it up.
*Failure helps you to identify success. Always have a back-up plan.
Jen Santos introduced us with the beautiful places in the Philippines!
+Seeing the breath taking Ugong Rock and Iwahig River and Firefly Watching makes me want to explore our country more.
*She said that every Filipino deserves to be rich. (I agree!)
I ended the day with a gleeful heart because I’ve been part of Belle De Jour’s 10th year celebration. Thank you for giving us the most creative and colorful planners throughout the 10 years! More to amazing years BDJ! We love you!
